Emily's 18!

Emily turned 18 yesterday. That just doesn't seem right, does it? Can we really have an adult child? That is just crazy talk! Emily wanted to go sky diving for her bday, ya know to prove that she is a big girl now but didn't do that (she still plans to). She went to see The Black Knight.
Emily is such a sweetheart. She has always been the peacemaker in our home. She works hard, has a sweet disposition and everyone loves her. We are so thankful for her everyday.
Okay, I was going to make the most beautiful cake for her. In my mind it was gorgeous! I made 2 round chocolate cakes. I put the 1st one down and put cool whip and cut up strawberries all over that. Then I put the other layer on. I poured frosting all over that and thought that it would drip down all the way but it just got the top cake. I should have frosted the bottom cake before I started. I dipped strawberries and put them on top. I pictured beautifully dipped strawberries and then drizzle white chocolate over them for color. Well, it didn't drizzle-it glopped. Oh well, Emily said it was pretty. It wasn't a sight but it tasted divine! I just wish I could think more practicle so that I wouldn't invision something that I can't make happen. oh well, it was good and it was devoured in minutes. Life is good.

Tip Of The Day

Okay, I don't know if I am a complete dork or not...Haley was shaving her legs with an electric razor. We were going swimming and I needed to shave my armpits. So, I thought I could do a quicky with Haley's razor. So I did. It kind of hurt but I still finished the job. Never, Ever! shave your pits w/an electric razor! I was is absolute pain all day yesterday! It hurt more than you can imagine! They have little cut marks and it stings! We were at Lagoon and in my agony I asked my friend Jen if I could use her chapstick. She was so selfish and wouldn't let me use it on my poor bloody pits. I had to wipe the chapstick on my fingers and then tenderly rub them on my pits. eowchy! I really don't need any comments, I just thought I would pass along this tip so that no one has to experience what I have. That's just the kind of friend I am!
No pictures available~too graphic!

FINGERNAIL POLISH IN CARPET!

Can anyone help me?! I am desperate and pathetic! Yesterday afternoon, I was getting ready to go out with Brennan and thought that my toes looked so good, I would paint my fingernails! (something that I never do) I unscrewed the lid to see if it was glumpy and it wasn't so I chose it to use. Then, I went to my bathroom to put it on and I took it from one hand to the next and grabbed it by the lid (which I guess I didn't screw back on) and the bottle fell and it splattered all over my carpet. I immediately panicked! I took a bottle of rubbing alcohol and started scrubbing! It took some out but not all. Now it is dried and I'm just sick about it! Does anyone have any advise to give me? I didn't even have the pleasure of yelling because it was me and I just cried. It's pink! We don't like pink carpet! It's a good thing it wasn't my girls because I am constantly telling them to not even open it until you are in the bathroom.

BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT

Oh my crappin out heck! I am not kidding!
Last night we went to see the pre-view of Batman. Brennan got tickets thru Hershey's and took some customers. It was worse than going to the air port. We wern't even aloud to have cell phones. We couldn't just turn them off, they couldn't be in our presence. Everyone had to take them to their cars. They wanded us. Right when we got in and in our seats, I had to go to the bathroom (of course Brennan would say) so I had to go out and wait in the line to be all check clean again. Anyway, I knew it wasn't the happily ever after movie that I like but I had no idea it was so intense! I about squoze Brennan's arm off. I only let out one loud scream so I guess I did pretty good. The joker (bless his resting soul) was so incredibly freakin creepy! That is all I can say. Oh, one more thing, Batman was nice to look at. I have to admit, it was a good movie. Brennan loved the movie and now he owes me some chick flicks. All is good.

HOT SUMMER NIGHTS

Last night Brennan and I decided to have our date night at home. The girls were all gone, so Brennan grilled us THE BEST steaks ever. Oooh, they were tastey! mmm!
The girls all came home later and we had a bon fire and they roasted hotdogs and then s'mores. They were so yummy! just look at that. This is what summer is all about! (food) We had a fun night with the girls and their friends. We are lucky to have good girls that have good friends!

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME!

Brennan has his game face on!

We went to the Raptors Baseball game the other night. It was fun. Gramma and Grampa Bateman came along, I think for the hotdogs. Loren went to be social with her little friends at the play ground. I went to be with the fam, the girls went because their friends came with us and Brennan went to watch the game! The game was good. They won in the last minute with a homerun. Can't ask for a better ending! Just wish Lyss could have come with us. (she had a practice game that she couldn't miss)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

I just love seeing the flags in everyones yards. Yes, this is a great land we live in! I am thankful that there are those who give up their time with their families to fight for our freedom
and make America a country to be proud of.

I always love the 4th of July. I am so thankful to live in our free country. We had a fun time at West Point Days. This was on the 3rd. Dinner at the park, fun things for the kids, fireworks and fun seeing all our neighbors and having a good time. On the 4th, we spent more time at the park and a bbq with Gramma and Grampa before more fireworks! (can't get enough fireworks)

Father's Day

It was a little different this Father's Day. Ems was in New York on her senior trip, Haley and Loren went to St. George with Gramma and Grampa so the only one home was Lyssi. We did get the breakfast in bed thing done before Haley and Loren left. Brennan doesn't want a simple waffel and juice, he always wants biscuits and gravey and sausage and eggs. So, twice a year (bday and Father's Day) he get's it. Or whenever he goes to Gramma Maxine's.

Here is Haley, Loren and Kasey with my dad ready to go to St. George. Lyssi loved being an only child today.

WANNA COOKIE?

Loren was so proud that she made cookies to take to Gramma's. Haley made the dough but Loren rolled them in balls, sugar and then baked them and even pulled them out of the oven by herself (that is what she was most proud of) . They were nummy!

22 YEARS!

It amazes me that 1st of all I am old enough to be married 22 years and 2nd of all that it has been 22 years! Brennan and I have been through a lot together. When we used to move around a lot, everytime we would have to talk in church because we had just moved in, Brennan would say: I have been happily married for 15 (or however many years we had been married) and Tammy's been happily married for 2...we don't know which 2. He would think this is so funny.
But life together has been wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better husband or dad. We deserve each other. Both a little cranky and we think each other is funny. (usually never at the same time)
